So you guys are going to make a The Under type city? That's a cool little Colosseum reference. That game doesn't get enough love.

I have this idea for a city based on the Kowloon Walled City. It's essentially a very tight-knit slumtown. It's got quite a few underground fight arenas and there are villainous Teams lurking about, but to make it stand out I've also turned the city idea into one big flea market where someone with a good eye and negotiating skills can find just about any non-unique item.
The city also plays a little role in whatever canon plot we have, as Silph and other big companies are looking to tear it down for their own shiny new developments.
I've named the city (or rather, the block within the larger city that we haven't named yet) "Meiro City" after the moonspeak for "maze."

I like the idea behind Meiro city a lot. I still say give it a poison gym

Meiro City sounds pretty cool. I love flea markets and things of that nature too, so I may be biased. =3

Nice to see the idea's welcome. We could do the Poison-type gym to represent the pollution there. Meiro can also have fighting, electric and insect Pokemon since it's a big crowded city and all.
Especially lots of those adorable Gen-V electric spiders.
Oh, and maybe there could be an underground passage to Giha City. It could explain why the authorities aren't able to find the Triads they track back to Meiro.

I really wanted to design the Ice city. I was thinkin' instead of a Toronto-esque, it could be geared towards a (imagine that but covered in jizz snow) Trondheim-esque kind of place. I mean, we already have a shit load of cities, why not something more, quiet and laid-back? I also came up with "Akitla town/city/someothershit" Akitla basically means "snow on water" in Inuit. This could also go along with something Toronto based, but it's not that much of a difference. I think in more specific terms, I'd like the Ice City to go like: - Seasonal, snow in fall/winter, and green in spring/summer
- Around 4 to 5 houses, one or two being kind of mansion-like, river separates two parts of it, bridge
- Maybe a hot springs, like an inverse Lavaridge Town in R/S
- I really want the background of the town to go along with the history of the region and SOLARUS. I was thinking since it's such a quiet place, and not many companies are their bar markets and small outlets, SOLARUS could set up an outpost of there, too more or less a better foothold on the region/escape-plan area. The gym could also be tied to Solarus, and the Gym Leader could be Li Shan Fang's brother's russo-chinese daughter or something.
Discuss?

That sounds better than most of our 'big city' ideas. Tatsu needs more towns. We could probably call it Himalaya or something.
I'm envisioning Jade City as two halves on the two neighboring dots just north of Maltus Town - one developed by Solarus and the other by Silph. Unlike the other 'themed' cities, I'm actually thinking of new development (skyscrapers etc.) growing so quickly that the city has effectively become 'generic.' Meiro City (basically one vast indoor 'dungeon') is stuck in the middle, and on what is quickly becoming prime property.
The idea is that about the only thing keeping the Jade companies from tearing Meiro down is that it hosts the city's official gym. The two companies set up their own unofficial arenas (like the Fighting Dojo in Saffron) but they can't get it accredited until they can win Hassan over to their side.

I like both ideas of Akitla Town and Jade City/Meiro City. Akitla town seems like a very beautiful place! As for being SOLARUS's base of operations, that could work, though Centria was already sort of one, as SOLARUS's influence seems to be growing out from the middle, eating the region from within. Akitla would probably be the northern dot west of Eureka City. Mr. Fellker is unfortunately a bit of a discarded idea, as he got changed to Li Shan Fang, a fairly suitable Asian character.

Yea, I made the changes to the post. What I meant was for Akitla to be one of Solarus's outposts or something of that sort. Being an outpost, it could also be led by someone like Li Shan Fang's brother who's also an executive in Solarus.

Whoa, there's quite a bunch to read there. Very informative! I'm glad someone's taking initiative. I'll look around for what I can do. I'm still reading up on what's been happening the past couple days.
It seems like the only gym city without a page is Fortuna, so I can do that I suppose.

What did you have in mind? I was imagining a sort of steampunk-ish place based on Columbia from Bioshock Infinite or The World's Fair. Maybe we can merge our ideas.

Ya i was thinking along those same lines. Half the city will be built on the mountaion and will be made of stone. The buildins will be very 'pointy' and gothic in architecture. Think Castle spires and cathedral like buildings growing off the mountain face. The other half of the city will be floating like in BS Infinite. I thought instead of buildings like in Bioshock though it would just be large bronze zepplins or something, something to contrast the buildings on the mountain to make things interesting. The gym will be just a lage slab of metal held up by balloons via chains. Just like blaine's gym in the pokemon series was a stone slab suspended above lava. As for transportaition from place to place or balloon to balloon i wanted steam powered flying contraptions like the ones in Howl' Moving Castle. the ones people just stood on and the driver took you were you needed to go. obviously everything here will be steam powered on account of the city being built over a coal mine.
